As the highest honor YSA awards, the Harris Wofford Common Good Awards pay homage to former Senator Harris Wofford, one of our nation’s greatest public servants and long-time YSA board member. The awards are given annually and recognize exemplary organizations that have made extraordinary progress towards realizing Senator Wofford’s vision of making working together for the common good “the common expectation and the common experience of every young person in America.”

Queen Anne’s County Public Schools is recognized for their Service-Learning Program that engages students in high-quality service-learning experiences in elementary, middle, and high school, integrates service-learning into required courses, and counts all student hours spent on the entire service-learning process.

Volunteer Iowa
Volunteer Iowa is recognized for their work as a Youth Service Zone grantee building the capacity of organizations in Iowa to increase youth participation, including surveying youth across the state to produce the Barriers to Youth Participation in Service and the Community report.

Michigan Community Service Commission
The Michigan Community Service Commission is recognized for their work as a longtime YSA Lead Agency grantee leveraging national service programs and funding in Michigan to increase youth participation in National Days of Service.

PA Youth Vote is recognized for their work to get all 18-year-olds in the Pennsylvania to the polls on Election Day through voter registration, voter education, and get out the vote activities focused on students newly eligible to vote for the first time.
